Technologies

Our four main proprietary technology platforms consist of the Antigen Identification Program (AIP®), the fully human Monoclonal Antibody Discovery System (eMAB®), the Adjuvant IC31® and a needle-free Vaccine Patch. The innovative technologies enable us to develop a new generation of so called “smart vaccines” – vaccines including only essential vaccine components and stimulate both T-cell and B-cell. Moreover, our smart vaccines are safe, efficient and easy to manufacture and administrate. 

Our innovative technology also enables us to improve existing vaccines by improving efficacy and tolerability. The attractiveness and promising potential of our technologies is shown in the ongoing partnerships and co-development programs with key players within the global vaccine and pharmaceutical industry.

Technology Pioneer 2009

In December 2008 the World Economic Forum selected Intercell as a Technology Pioneer 2009. Intercell was the first company in Austria to be awarded the title since the program started 10 years ago. (press release)

With our AIP® we identify antigens in blood from infected patients who have had a favorable outcome. We have successfully used this technology to identify a large number of novel antigens related to a variety of infectious diseases.

IC31® is our most advanced immunizer, a fully synthetic adjuvant with an impressively broad range of immunological mechanisms of action in a chemically defined formulation.

Our groundbreaking needle-free vaccine patch technology is used to enhance the effect of existing vaccines as well as enable new vaccines that are viable only through transcutaneous administration.

The antibody technology platform is based on expression cloning of monoclonal antibodies from human B-cells and enables the identification of anti-infective antibodies to prevent and treat infectious diseases.
