Intercell is an innovative biotechnology company focused on the design and development of novel vaccines for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. Our products target markets with substantial unmet medical needs.

Our first product on the market is a prophylactic vaccine against Japanese Encephalitis. Moreover, we are pursuing clinical development of product candidates, both in-house and collaboration with our partners, e.g. vaccines against Travelers’ Diarrhea, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas, Hepatitis C, Influenza, Tuberculosis and Pneumococcus. In addition, several vaccine and antibodies candidates are undergoing pre-clinical testing.

Our proprietary, state-of-the-art technology platforms -- the Antigen Identification Program® (AIP®), the adjuvant IC31® and our needle-free vaccine patch -- enable us to discover and refine new product candidates and improve existing vaccines. These attractive technologies have resulted in favorable partnerships and collaborations with some of the leading players within the global vaccine and pharmaceutical industry, such as Novartis, GSK, Merck & Co., Inc., sanofi-aventis and Pfizer (formerly Wyeth).

In December 2008, Intercell was awarded the Scrip Award for Biotech Company of the Year. (press release)

Intercell’s first product on the market is a Japanese Encephalitis vaccine. The product is approved in the U.S., Europe, Canada and Australia. Intercell's late-stage candidates include vaccine patch and vaccines targeting Travelers’ Diarrhea, Hepatitis C, Influenza, Tuberculosis and hospital-acquired infections.

We are focused on the production of so called smart vaccines: vaccines that include only the essential ingredients needed to stimulate both T-cells and B-cells.

An attractive portfolio of technologies and products has resulted in strategic partnerships and co-development programs.

With the three proprietary technology platforms, the Antigen Identification Program (AIP®), the adjuvant IC31® and the novel needle-free vaccine patch, we are developing a new generation of vaccines.
