Intercell is an innovative vaccine-biotechnology company with the clear vision to develop and commercialize novel immunomodulatory biologicals to prevent disease and reduce suffering across the world.
Our first product on the market is a prophylactic vaccine against Japanese Encephalitis. Moreover, we are pursuing clinical development of product candidates, both in-house and collaboration with our partners, e.g. Pseudomonas, Hepatitis C, Clostridium difficile, Influenza and Tuberculosis. In addition, several vaccine and antibody candidates are undergoing pre-clinical testing.
The Company's technology base includes novel platforms, such as the patch-based delivery system and the proprietary human monoclonal antibody discovery system eMAB®, in addition to well-established technologies upon which Intercell has entered into strategic partnerships with a number of leading pharmaceutical companies, including GSK, Novartis, Merck & Co., Inc., and sanofi-aventis.
In December 2008, Intercell was awarded the Scrip Award for Biotech Company of the Year. (press release)
Intercell’s first product on the market is a Japanese Encephalitis vaccine. The product is approved in the U.S., Europe, Canada, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Australia and India. Intercell's late-stage candidates include vaccines targeting hospital-acquired infections, Hepatitis C, Influenza and Tuberculosis.
We are focused on the production of so called smart vaccines: vaccines that include only the essential ingredients needed to stimulate both T-cells and B-cells.
An attractive portfolio of technologies and products has resulted in strategic partnerships and co-development programs.
With the four proprietary technology platforms, the Antigen Identification Program (AIP®), the fully human Monoclonal Antibody Discovery System (eMAB®), the adjuvant IC31® and the novel needle-free vaccine patch, we are developing a new generation of vaccines.
