Intercell AG operates in three countries with headquarters in Vienna, laboratories in Schlieren (Switzerland), manufacturing facilities in Scotland and R&D facilities in the U.S. (Maryland).
The company, founded as a spin-off from Vienna University in 1997, is today one of the most innovative players in the field of novel vaccines. With its location in three different countries, Intercell is an international company with a workforce of approximately 297 colleagues from more than 25 different countries.
Intercell’s headquarters consists of approximately 152 employees engaged in research and development and administration, including finance, marketing and sales.
The laboratories in Schlieren, Switzerland, are branch establishment of Intercell AG. The team consists of five colleagues focusing on research in connection with the platform technology for monoclonal antibody discovery.
Intercell USA, with around 47 employees, focuses on discovery and development of vaccines, administered via a novel needle-free patch.
Intercell’s manufacturing site in Scotland, with around 90 employees, produces the vaccine candidate against Japanese Encephalitis. The site has development and commercial manufacturing capacities.
